Texas CDA developed the project to honor past State Regents, engage members to give the gift of prayer and to provide graduating seniors, who are related to CDA members, the opportunity to apply for scholarships.
Court St. Jane Frances de Chantal #2699 participates in this fundraising effort by offering Memorial Scholarship Fund Mass cards for a minimum donation of $2.50. The recipients are enrolled for a period of one year in the Holy Mass offered by the State Chaplain on the First Friday of each month. All designated funds generated from this project are awarded annually from the State Memorial Scholarship Fun

Reading expands the mind and Court St. Jane Frances de Chantal #2699 takes pride in promoting literacy for all ages across Texas.
March 2 is National Read Across America Day as well as Dr. Seuss's Birthday. Every year, members spend the day reading to classrooms at Little Saints Preschool at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. What a joy to read to these sweet faces and watch their faces light up. One Fish. Two Fish.
NOTE: Visitors are currently not permitted in the classrooms at this time. Come back and visit us soon to see what other creative ideas we have to promote literacy with Little Saints Preschool.
Court St. Jane Frances de Chantal #2699 promotes literacy by collecting new and gently used books for school aged children. These donations are distributed across local libraries, after-school programs and family shelters across North Houston.
Come back and visit us soon and we'll announce dates when our next donation drive will be.
Calling New Members & Existing Members
Court #2699 is always open to new ideas and service projects that are structured around promoting literacy. We're looking for someone to Chair either one or both of the Promoting Literacy Across Texas service projects. No experience necessary. You'll have a whole team of Sisters in Christ to support you.
Not a CDA member? Now's a perfect time to join. If you're called to say YES, contact any of our Court Officers. Let's grab a cup of coffee or meet virtually by Zoom.
